Over the last decade the government and local utility companies have worked together to deregulate the energy industry, creating a healthy competition between suppliers. The goal has been to keep energy costs affordable while giving the customer the right to choose their energy supplier.
With energy deregulated, your energy is still delivered by your current utility provider; however you have the right to choose your actual supplier.
